Cabin Fever

Due to The Little Madam being poorly, and the terrible weather outside (there've been gale-force winds, hail, pelting rain and an air temperature I can count on the fingers of one hand), I haven't left the house in three days.

When TLM's up I either play with her or do housework. When she's down for a nap I sit and twiddle my thumbs, hoping she won't scream and wait for me to find her stuck in the corner of her cot with her head under the blanket.

We really could do with some fresh air and company.

It is freaking cold. I believe it might snow tonight.

Sounds like extremem weather on either side of the globe right now. I prefer the riving cold to the hair melting heat of right now, but you get what you get with the weather.

I think the two of you should go outside and brave the crappy weather. It builds character or something..

There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. But I can see you might not want to teach TLM that just yet.

Another important lesson that she might be a bit young for: there's nothing quite like getting out there, getting cold, getting back indoors and waming up with a lovely hot chocolate. Staying in and forgoing this pleasure - what sacrifices mums make.

mmmm. hot chocolate....

mtnw: or else we may have to buy another heater and suck up an even huger power bill...

anne altman: we're on the other side of the Earth from you guys, and it's also to do with our orbit around the sun. That's enough explanation for me.

rainypete: isn't it due to global warming or something?

happy and blue 2: it builds viruses, is what it builds.

jon: are you callin' me dull, boy (in a Southern redneck accent)? 'Cos I am :-(

cathi: hot chocolate - yum. I can't wait to find out whether TLM can handle dairy or not. There'll be so much culinary joy if she can - cheeses, custard, chocolate...
