a fun free morning

This morning, while TLM was at daycare, I could have: gone shopping for my brother's birthday present; had coffee at Ernesto and made another attempt at eavesdropping on people's conversations; updated my CV; burned some new children's world music onto backup CDs; watched The Power of Myth on DVD (a birthday present from the boy - and I only thought of it because Rory from Gilmore Girls mentioned it); or even worked on my languishing painting. But I didn't do any of those things.

I spent most of this morning fitting our new toilet seat (no Jon, I didn't get a Toto brand, I just got a cheapy plastic thing from the hardware shop). First I tried to screw the bolts in upside down, then I tried to screw in the connection panel upside down. If you're doing this screwing, unscrewing and re-screwing while maximising the distance between yourself and the toilet bowl, it's very physically tiring.

But it's done now. At least until those mysterious permanent burn-like marks start reappearing, we've got a nice clean seat.

*harumph* I know they are not in any way cheap, but they last for years and are so hygenic!! Then again, i have no car or car payments, have no mortgage since I rent, and don't have children.....

I love eavesdropping....lots of really odd stuff is said on the subwaay here.

I've never done any paid work in the area but I'm actually good at household plumbing.
I don't think I'd get any work there though because I just refuse to wear my trousers that low.

jon: It's not just a finance thing, its also because: 1. I only wanted to replace the toilet seat, not the whole toilet, and 2. I dont think Toto is even available in NZ. I appreciate your opinions though :-)

nigel: you just reminded me of the most horrific bum cleavage display the other day. I was at the park, watching TLM risk life and limb on the jungle gym, and spotted this huge guy getting out of his car, with his jeans most of the way down his bum. It was so bad I couldn't take my eyes off it!

washlets attach to the existing toilet, you simply remove the old toilet seat.

When we first moved into our condo we had to have a plumber come in and so funny and typical he let his crack show.
