All this knitting, sewing, walking in the woods and working for a not-for-profit has finally put me on the path towards eco-awareness. Better late then never eh? Plus the other stuff in my life.

homemade and loving it
The one time I took TLM into the yarn shop with me, she made me buy a ball of yarn for her. It was this bright blue and bulky Panda Toto yarn.
Then she made me promise to make something for her out of it.
Then she made me promise to make mittens.
Eventually I found a mittens pattern I could understand, and which didn't require a set of double-pointed needles (which I don't have).
Of course, I didn't have enough yarn. So I supplemented with some leftover silver grey wool from the boy's scarf, plus the pinky purple acrylic left over from TLM's/my scarf, plus two strands of white wool which TLM found in her daycare centre's stash.
The finished mittens are wonky and mishapen and far too big.
But TLM doesn't care.

Strangely they look good enough to eat. Maybe it's just a pregnancy craving thing.
Those are lovely mittens.
I am sure she just loves them.
Sorry I haven't been around just keeping busy. Hopefully when Gregory starts kindergarten I will have some free time.
donnasoowho: yeah that's strange all right, and I'm pretty sure that acrylic isn't an essential mineral for good health, either. Might be a novel idea for cake-decorating types though!
nigel: thanks, and it helps that they are being worn by a cute 5 year old. Oldies like us couldn't get away with it.
Angela: course you are! Nice to hear from you anyway :-)
You probably could with a matching scarf.
nigel: not even...
They are unique and cute - like you! Love them!
desiree: how sweet of you to say!
