Soon to be 4

By this time last year I would have already booked a venue for TLM's birthday party, emailed invites to all her friends, decided on what food would be available, and possibly already have opened up the present that her Nanna sent from England.

But due to massive poorliness on my part, followed by yet more poorliness on the boy's part, nothing was organised - at all - until last night.

So, with only a week and a half's notice, we now know where and when the party will be. The boy has bought some invitations and party hats. Now all I have to do is decide whether I can manage the rice bubble slices and chocolate cake without coughing all over them.

my goodness! Soon to be 4. It seems like just the other day she was a baby. DOTH will be 6 in November.

I've relaxed a bunch about my son's parties as he's gotten older, too. Some might say I've relaxed too much. But I think it's just right.

Yes, but who remembers much from a 4th birthday besides running, laughing and cake?

mtnw: Yep time sure does go by quickly once you have kids...

antoinette: I've relaxed a lot about everything as TLM's gotten older! Relatively speaking, anyway.

nigel: this is true. I remember almost nothing from when I was 4.

planning is a pain.

I am sure she will have a great time no matter what you do.

angela: yeah she will - as long as her friends are there and they bring presents!

donnasoowho: Ooh, what are those strange Vietnamese-looking symbols on your words? We tried to book McD's but (thank gawd) they were booked out, so now it's in a kiddie's indoor playground instead.
