Just one of those senior moments

"Hello, Healthline. How can I help you?"
"I'm ringing about my elderly mother. She's got one of those pill organisers? Well my brother re-filled her week's worth of pills tonight, including the ones for today. And she must have seen all those pills in the Saturday compartment and thought she hadn't taken them yet. So...um.. she's taken her day's medication twice over."
"Oh, bless..."

It turned out to be okay, but I'm glad I'm not there right now, listening to her accuse her offspring of trying to off her.

Thank goodness she is ok! How frightening.

Maybe there should be four weeks worth of pill pockets like with birth control.
It'd be gigantic though.

I hate to say that I overtake medicine all the time cause I can't remember if I've taken it or not. I have to take stuff twice a day and often I can't remember if I've taken it already so just take it again. And I'm not at all senior.

Haven't died or anything yet. Mind you, it's not like it's a life threatening thing like diabetes.

antoinette: yeah I thought I was looking at yet another trip to the A & E.

nigel: yeah it'd be the size of a phone book for an average-sized NZ city I reckon.

donnasoowho: really? Gawd, I remember I used to forget whether I'd taken my birth control or not, and would take another one rather than risk an untimely duff-up. I guess it must be okay in your case, but surely there must be side effects of even smallish overdoses?
