The perils of ordering ethnic food over the phone

Sometimes I have to repeat our address over and over again until I'm almost ready to just get in the car and point to the menu in person.
Sometimes I get rung back because the poor guy sitting in the delivery vehicle with a bag of hot curries on his lap (well I hope it's not on his lap but I bet they don't drive very large cars) is outside the wrong house.

This time, I said we only wanted one of the complementary boxes of rice, because the boy prefers roti with his butt chick.

Which is why they gave us three...

Pity they didn't give you extra roti instead. I love roti..

Take advantage of the extra rice, freeze it and use it as a quick ingredient when making your own curry or fried rice or rice pudding or risotto or rice cakes or paella...

I love roti too. Damn, I didn't think of freezing the rice! We left the 2 extras in the fridge to make fried rice with the next night, but only ended up using 1 - so one got dumped.

Except I can never figure out what to do with the rice once it's frozen....

I am apparently so useless at annunciating my address/phone number and writing it down that we hardly ever get any mail and it ends up going all over the place, instead of to number 'fufty'.

That is why I do all I can to avoid making the call. I have someone else do it if possible.

A couple of times I wanted to go over to the neighbors and ask if they would call for me, but didn't

donnasoowho: you're going to have to learn to say "feeefteee", aren't you?

angela: that's what the boy does - makes me call 'em up.
