All this knitting, sewing, walking in the woods and working for a not-for-profit has finally put me on the path towards eco-awareness. Better late then never eh? Plus the other stuff in my life.

A knitted dress for TLM
I used the free knitting pattern called Oriental Lily, on the Ravelry site. The main part of the dress is made from an acrylic yarn called Robin Paintbox, and the lilac bands are from a single ball of cotton/acrylic Wendy yarn. The acrylic stuff was a bit on the plasticky side, but it was the only one with the right kind of variegated colouring, which I could be sure wouldn't cause any irritation.

Gorgeous!!!!
Thanks! TLM loves it, but unfortunately it seems to be prone to catching on things so I have to restrict her to non-tree climbing activities if she's in it.
WOW. That is incredible!!! It looks really nice on her ... what a tremendous amount of work! The perfect dress to go climbing trees in. Well done!
jessica - it was actually really easy. I used variegated yarn which meant I got all those colours with hardly any effort, and it was knitted in the round so no seaming whatsoever. If only I could find more women's patterns like this!
