Not too young to be a shallow ageist

I'm pretty sure of it. Baby prefers the young and pretty.

She made goo-goo eyes at the attractively presented young retail staff at the duty free beauty counters.
She cries when she gets a cuddle from a senior citizen. Up until about a month ago, this included her own grandmother.

When I took Baby to our GP to get her checked out, just to make sure there's nothing medical standing in the way of full-on sleep training (we aim to start this coming weekend), she absolutely charmed the pants off the elegant young woman sitting next to us in the waiting room.

But the kindly, bespectacled old gent who very gently looked into her ears and listened to her lungs, made Baby burst into tears.

Perhaps it's not too late to start using eye wrinkle cream.

Is that the real reason she was crying so much last time I was there?

This seems normal to me. I still cry when old people come near me..
She sure is cute..

I'm so proud of my little guy. When we were at the store the other day the total was a rather disheartening amount of money. He promptly screamed and looked upset. I've created a second anti-shopper in my house as an antidote to my wife and daughter's mall laden activities.thoohfqi

beth: It would be good if your grandparents could remember that perhaps their own children were like that too, so they'd understand - but they would have probably forgotten.

eb:nah, that's just me getting in her face.

flying kiwi: When Baby gets her jabs, even a cross between Miss Guatemala and Mary Poppins (the former's looks and the latter's baby-ease, not the other way around) avoid her screaming.

juliabohemian: Not at all. She only watches Baby Einstein DVDs.

happyandblue2: well some old people ARE scary...

rainypete: you mean, you don't spend hours looking for matching Dad and Son outfits?

Gotta say, Baby is damn cute.

Mine were different. They adored men with deep voices or anyone wearing glasses. Still watching them on that voice thing.

nyx: They must love listening to Barry White then.

stephanie: well I can't guarantee your kids'll look anything like my little monster, but if you're lucky you'll get a good sleeper ;-)

Awww, how adorable! She looks more Asian in this pic...maybe your genes are stronger than the bf? ;-)

I never really cried that much, as my parents told me, and I used to be so talkative, even when I was still in Japan and could barely speak. I'd 'talk' to people on the train with my mom, and people would would wonder why some white lady had a Japanese kid, lol

Well, she didn't bawl her eyes out when Him Indoors and I visited together last time, so that must mean we're in the young and pretty crowd (yay us!). Or maybe she wasn't focussing properly? Oh that's right, the Boy distracted her...

jon: I wonder if they thought you were a mail-order baby :-)

desiree: that's a very good question. Perhaps him indoors' youthful mind showed through, eh?
